Simply Pleasent
Dressing to brighten cold spirits may be an essential for fall fashion. Our model Ashely (who finally got to model for us, yay!) is wearing a dress that is pure sunshine! Just as our outfit for today, putting an ensemble together does not have to be a complicated equation. Keep it simple by using a few of your very favorites, and getting dressed will be your pleasure too.
Dress: Yellow is actually a great fall color. I am always inspired by the leaves during this season. I adore this dress, heart shaped bodices are a great love of mine. The reason being is that they are timelessly romantic and ultra fem.
Vest: This vest is awesome; it has such a fascinating length. This piece is versatile, it can be worn in so many combinations or on its own as a sweater dress.
Necklace: For a pop of color, also inspired by fall leaves, we chose a seed-bead necklace that has tons of tiny red driblets.
Shoes: Shoes? what shoes? {send me a message about what shoes you think Ashley could be wearing}
*Special thanks to Hilary K. for guest styling and for being a kick-ass friend.

Girl’s Got Legs
Due to my recent transportation deficiencies I am walking to school from my house. This walk is about a mile long one way. Its rough at 7:30 in the morning especially when its cold outside, buuuuuut, the up side is that mis piernas are looking good. So, in order to showcase my legs in cold weather, I decided to break out the tights.
Dress: One thing really great about this shirt-dress is that it has this multi-buckle black faux-leather belt already attached to it.
Tights: Always a yum way to put spice, color, and creativity into an outfit. This pair is pretty loud, in candy corn loveliness, and could go terribly wrong in a wicked-witch-of-the-southwest kind of way, but OF COURSE that is part of why they are so fully awesome. The rest of the outfit is neutral minimalist, so the tights don’t overwhelm. Or maybe they do, but in a really fierce autumnal ambrosia drunk kind of way.
Necklace: Vintage faux pearls are fat and lovely. I love this strand because it was given to me by my grandmother, a fashion fox to this day.
Shoes: Snakeskin pattern leather wedge sandals in ridiculously TALL flavor, and that’s the point. I can’t give them up. They’re usually summer attire with the lilting flowers in the hair and the oohs and aahs of firework-clinging dresses, but paired with warmer weather gear like thick tights or chunky knit socks I can wear them all through autumn AND THAT’S JUST HOW IT IS. Chunky wedges you live in my heart.

The Cheese Man
At Fashion Fox headquarters, we are not afraid of a little help. My featured model today is the one and only James D. Cheeseman (and he styled his own look). If you have the pleasure of seeing him around town, you will always get a picture of what stylin guys wear. He has a great sense for patterns, fabrics, and BOOTS! Fashion is not something guys need to be afraid of; it is possible to look good and feel comfortable. Just ask the Cheese.
Top: Flannel Plaid. These two words will be you friend this fall and winter. Something about this combo is very intriguing to the ladies. It must be the timeless connection to western cowboys (Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford, and Brad Pitt in the early 90s).
Jeans: Very dark washes (a.k.a. color) are a staple for colder months. The fit of these jeans is a slim one. When trying on jeans, try and find ones that are not too tight and not too baggy. No one wants to see “boxered” butt cheeks. Plus belts are cool.
Boots and socks: Brown leather boots can be surprisingly just as comfortable as your more casual sneaks. For a funky mix up, opt for socks that have patterns and some color. If you are already going to buy socks, pick up something fun instead of the regular old Hanes.
Scarf: This thing is cool because it is one continuous loop of super soft cotton fabric. I especially like the double sided colors. An item like this keeps you warm, is easy to throw on, and makes you look like you tried a little harder than you actually did.
Shades: You can never go wrong with a pair of Ray-bans; they are classic bad ass. The best part is, if you cant afford the real deal, there are plenty of other companies that make look a likes that are more budget friendly.

Cosmic
The title of this post is cosmic because meeting Caroline (featured model) was cosmic. She is the kind of girl that brings bundles of sunshine in her pockets where ever she goes and pulls out handfuls of it and sprinkles it all around. What I really mean is that she has a wide open way of receiving new friends. But I could actually be feeling a connection with who or what we were in a past life…Either way she is a fabulous budding fashionista. I do admit that I did not take part in styling her look but was inspired none-the-less.
Top:”Boy friend Ts” are classified by how they are over sized and they usually have a nifty pocket. What I love about this season’s Ts is that they are supposed to resemble a man’s T but they are tailored towards women, resulting in a flattering, cute fit.
Suspender Shorts: A unique alternate to a skirt during fall is to wear shorts. (these ones are denim and come with suspenders) Just make Sure you keep warm by wearing leggings.
Leggings: Pattern is a territory that must be dealt with in a thoughtful fashion. Too much, and too loud is never where you want to take pattern. Here Caroline wears paisley leggings in grays and blues. Because the rest of her outfit is solid colored, this addition of pattern is refreshing instead of obnoxious.
Boots: Suede tassel boots are a perfect compliment to this bohemian look.All else I have to say is:
“These boots are made for knocking!” - Brian G.
Necklaces: These are of her own personal collection. She did however explain that her boyfriend handmade them for her and used African wish nuts.

Hear It For The Boys
Menswear: I personally am all about it. Even if you don’t have that special boy in your life right now, you probably have a brother, best friend, younger cousin, or dad that you can snag items from. If you are seriously low on male interaction, that is o.k. too. Thrift shopping in the Men’s section can be just as fun as in the Women’s. Keep in mind that using only a few pieces of guys clothes is key to looking like a flirty tomboy instead of your younger brother. {unless you are fabulously androgynous}
Top: Flowing and sheer, perfect for layering. I am a big supporter of mixing prints, hence the stripes with floral. Dark blue is the perfect compliment to pumpkin orange pants.
Jacket: One of my signature and staple items is the military style jacket. Perfect for every season and easy to find at mostly any thrift store. This is a Gap piece and I love it to bits :-)
Scarf: Courtesy of my band mate Brian. Soft cashmere will keep you warm and comes in vibrant colors. I really enjoy how this scarf ties the color scheme of the outfit together. * To any of my guy fans, this is a great find: plaid is a must!
Pants: Thank you to my brother’s friend Robert for the pants. Pumpkin colored cords! should anything else be said?
Shoes: Oh so comfortable suede mini moc-booties. These shoes have a great vintage look to them, but are in perfect new condition. They are Duck Head (since 1865) brand and run any where from $80 to $100. Of course I got mine for way less at one of my favorite thrift stores
Pendant: LOVE LOVE LOVE Lucky Brand jewelry but a college artist is on a budget. So when I see a piece like this at a price I cant beat, I have to indulge. I do believe it was a wise choice.
*Thanx to Robbie for modeling:that “special guy” in my life :-)
